Dr Gerald R Murray
MB
BCh BAO (Galway 1979) FRCGP DCH DObs
Dr Murray joined in 1985 and is now the senior partner. He is the local GP Tutor and has an interest in minor surgery and asthma; he also has an interest in postgraduate and undergraduate education. He is an examiner for the Royal College of General Practitioners and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College in 2004.
Dr Pamela J Redman

ChB (Edinburgh 1984) MRCGP ARCM
Dr Redman joined in 1990 and has
an interest in medical education and women's health. She works
part time and is a qualified trainer of future GPs.

Dr Fraser joined in 1998. He has an interest in medical education. He works full time and is a qualified trainer of future GPs.

Dr Walker joined the practice in 2006 and works part time.
Locum Doctors
From time to time, in the absence of a GP Partner, the practice will employ locum doctors. Locums are fully qualified GPs who are there to help you and will have access to your medical records.

Manager
Mr Tony O'Neill FCMI FISMM is the Business Manager and he is responsible for the administration of the practice. He would be happy to hear your views and suggestions about the service offered by the practice.

Mrs Sheila Gibbs manages the reception and administrative staff and is there to help if you should have any queries regarding these services.

We also employ Receptionists,
Clerical Officers and Medical Record Summarisers.
The Receptionists
organise the flow of consultations with the doctors so that the doctors
see as many patients as possible within the working day.
Please
have a little patience as they often have to deal with more than one
problem at a time.

so please help them to help you.

We also employ
two Primary Care Support Workers who perform blood tests etc.
Our
GPs, Nurses and Primary Care Support Workers all consult by appointment
only.
Our Nurses deal with health promotion clinics, contraceptive
injections and travel vaccinations, organise diagnostic tests and other
nursing activities as well as assisting the doctors with minor operations.
Health
Visitor
The Health Visitors can give you advice
on health care, particularly for expectant and new mothers, small children,
the elderly and the handicapped. They can be contacted on 484010.
District
Nurse
The District Nurse team provides nursing care, practical assistance and professional advice to housebound patients of any age.
The District Nursing Sisters are Registered General Nurses with a certificate or diploma in district nursing and can be contacted on 484020.
Midwife
The Midwife runs antenatal clinics both independently and in conjunction with the doctors. She can be contacted on 484040.
Counselling
A
counselling service is available via your GP.
Training
Our
practice is a training practice and we undertake the training of health
care professionals and persons intending to become health care professionals,
including fully qualified doctors training to become GPs.
GP Registrars
These are fully qualified doctors in their last year of training before entering General Practice. The practice employs a new Registrar each year.
Foundation Year (FY2) Doctors
These doctors are with the Practice for four months at a time. They are fully qualified doctors who may go on to become GPs or decide to specialise in other areas of healthcare.
Medical
Students
The practice undertakes training of
medical students from time to time. Please help to make them feel welcome
but if you do not wish the student to be present please let us know
and your wishes will be respected.
